Easter Egg Hunt -FoBFS Extravaganza – 22nd March
The amazing FoBFS team put on an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in Villa V. KS1 children had fun finding the eggs that were hidden around the play area in Villa V, they then exchanged them for chocolate bunnies. Yum Yum. The KS2 children also ran around finding eggs but then had to solve maths questions in order to win house points and a chocolate egg…everyone had a fabulous time. Happy Easter Everyone.
Easter Enterprise Fair – 21st March
The children worked really hard this year making some fantastic goods to sell on their Easter Fair stalls. There were necklaces, keyrings, cakes, calendars, beautifully painted plant pots with succulents in them to name but a few. The sun was shining, the Café was busy selling homemade cakes and drinks and everyone had a fantastic time. In total, the children and staff raised a whopping 604 euros which will go towards school funds and treats for the children. Well done everyone for making the day such a magical one.
World Book Day – 7th March
The children have had an amazing day celebrating World Book Day. The theme was “amazing vocabulary” and children were invited to come to school dressed as an amazing word. There were some fantastic outfits on show; from “sleepy” children wearing their PJ’s and “Magical” unicorns to “courageous” knights and a “generous” Father Christmas. Each class celebrated by carrying out different age related activities to celebrate books and their importance. There were competitions for the best paper plate character or book and the FoBFS ran a Wacky reading competition whereby children had to submit a photo of themselves reading in a wacky environment. The children had a wonderful day, thank you to all involved for making it such a magical day to remember.
National Storytelling Week – 29 Jan – 02 Feb
The children have enjoyed taking part in National Storytelling week. At the start of the week, children were sent home with Storytelling Bingo where they had to get a grown up to sign off when they had read a story in different scenarios such as in their PJ’s, to a friend over the phone and in an outside location. Throughout the week, each assembly has revolved around storytelling with teachers reading stories to the children and on Friday, the younger children had stories read to them by the older ones. This was made even more special seeing as though everyone was allowed to come to school wearing their PJ’s!
