Alfa/Romeo Class – Autumn Term 1, 2024

Our Fortnightly Learning Blogs

Week 3 and Week 4

This week we have been exploring the story “We’re going on a bear hunt”. We have been retelling the story during our carpet times and lots of children have been acting it out during our outdoor learning times. FS2 also imagined what we might need to pack in our bag if we were to go on our own bear hunt.

We then decided that maybe we should go on our own bear hunt! So we made some sandwiches (we thought it might be hungry work looking for bears) and off we went.

This week FS2 found about patterns and spent time trying to spot patterns, finish some different patterns and then create their own repeating patterns.

FS2 are also enjoying their phonics lessons and are learning how to blend sounds together and are having a go at representing the sounds that they have learnt so far.

We have also all enjoyed choosing our own learning in our indoor and outdoor spaces with all of our friends. We have made play dough bears, made up stories and painted wonderful pictures.

Well done Alfa Romeo. Keep up the good work 🙂

Week 1 and Week 2

What a fantastic first 2 weeks in Alfa Romeo! We have moved into a new classroom, welcomed new members to our class and we have a had a lot of our children move into FS2 and learn new routines including lunchtimes and assemblies. It has been lovely to explore, play and learn with all of friends old and new.

In our first week we learnt about our feelings. We sang songs, played games, sorted pictures, read the story of the colour monster and even made our own colour monsters using different coloured paper.

In their carpet time FS2 have started to think about how things can match, make a set and be sorted into groups. They have played lots of games and even had a go at sorting some items into their own groups.

We also went on to explore the new school to find out where the other classrooms were, find out who worked in the office and to see where the bus was parked.

What a busy and fantastic way to start the new school year.
